Home/Retreats

Retreats that stay with you.

Tailored residential and day retreats for schools, parishes and youth groups — led by our young ministry team.

What to expect

More than a trip away.

A Castlerigg retreat blends prayer and worship with games, walks on the fells, great food and real conversation. Every programme is built around your group — their age, their faith journey and what you want them to take home.

Our team lead from the front and walk alongside your young people the whole way, so staff can step back and share the experience too.

Led by our team

Young people leading young people.

Our retreats are run by a team of young Youth Ministers who give a year (or more) to live and serve at Castlerigg. They bring energy, faith and a genuine heart for the young people who walk through our doors.

Every retreat is fully led by the team, with your own staff free to join in — or take a well-earned breather.

Good to know

How long is a residential retreat?
The most common length is two nights, but we also offer day retreat, one night retreat, four night retreats, and very occasionally three night retreats
What ages do you welcome?
We run programmes for everybody from year three up to young adults.
Do our staff need to lead sessions?
No — our team leads the whole programme. Accompanying staff are responsible for pastoral care and discipline, but are very welcome to join in with everything.
What's included in the cost?
Accommodation, food, all sessions and activities led by our team, and use of the grounds and facilities.
Is Castlerigg accessible?
We have ground-floor accommodation and accessible facilities. Tell us about any specific needs in your group and we'll talk through how we can help.
How do we get there?
We're on Manor Brow in Keswick, a short distance from the town centre. Most groups arrive by coach; there's space to drop off and turn around on site.
